Wide awake during the times my body yearns to sleep, I stare into the ceiling in hopes of finding a source of guidance—some solutions—to my life. The watch resting on my table continues to tick in the silence and I smile; nothing’s going to appear. I die a little more inside and give in to my fatigue.

Having my picture taken by anyone other than myself has got to be one of the most vulnerable states I find myself in. I am by no means photogenic, you see. A simple task, like taking a picture of myself, requires several “test” shots, shots I would pick at for the “best looking” one. Unfortunately, the best of the bunch eventually morphs into a picture I don’t like and will pick at and ...

“We are almost always wrong, maybe not all the way wrong, but at least a little bit. Even the simplest questions have vast complexities built into them, and understanding that we never fully understand things leads to a much healthier and more effective relationship with the world.”

It’s flattering to hear character traits that supposedly describe my being come out of another person’s mouth; good or bad. They claim to know me entirely, they assume they understand why I do what I do or say what I say—but they don’t. I don’t think anyone can ever know another person entirely; a solid 100%. It’s best left that way too; to not come face to...

My friends often attach the words “modest” and “humble” to my name. Unfortunately, apathy towards my works are due to the fact that I simply don’t believe what I have done, created, or said in the given situation was as great or as memorable as some people claim it to be. I don’t see what they see or feel what they feel, though I would love to one day; enter the...

monsta: What is the meaning of life? This is something that plagues our generation and nothing makes it more apparent than tumblr itself. Thousands of people searching for the value of their existence. Our generation is one of heartache, despair and pain. Searching for the truth in the cryptic landscape of our mind. For years i’ve been delving deep into my own soul trying to piece together a...

Everyone’s bickering about having a new sign. What happened to the other shit like sea critters dying and floating to the surface of bodies of water, birds falling out of the sky, and the massive water bombardment of Australia, the land known for its droughts? Oh right, YOUR SIGNS. BTW: CONSTELLATIONS ARE MERE DIVISIONS IN THE SKY SEPARATING GROUPS OF STARS WHO ARE POSITIONED CLOSE TO ONE...

When a stranger smiles at me, I forget everything—my frustrations, regrets, my name, where I live, where I’m going, where I’m even coming from—and just smile back. The powers of a simple smile; what a mood lifter.

Repeating to yourself, line after line, an excerpt from a textbook or of whatever notes you may have taken in class, stressing out for an upcoming exam, is not a method of producing intelligence. The regurgitation of information—a simple read and memorize cycle—is not intelligence. You can know a lot of crap, but that doesn’t mean you’re a genius. If you are able to apply...
